I'm waiting to upgrade my camcorder, and the main reason I'm waiting is because I don't think there is a camcorder on the market that has what I really want yet. I'm looking for a budget, prosumer level camcorder which is relatively small but which has the following features, high definition, solid state storage (e.g. SD card), dolby surround sound capture, and the last last elusive feature of full screen high speed recording (e.g. record at twice speed, 4x speed, 8x speed) for smooth playback in slow motion. As far as I know there are some camcorders on the market which have all these features apart from the last one, it is just the last feature which seems to be ignored. When DV camcorders first came out years back there was one camera which did have high speed recording, but it did this at lower resolutions.
