After an interesting adwords discussion thread appeared on the UKBF, about ads being displayed for fairly irrelevant searches with broad match, I was interested to see if this also happened in Google's content network. I found a page on a content network site, i.e. an external site displaying adwords (adsense), that was targeting the irrelevant phrase in question "BMW7 Series" and noticed a one-off google glitch where the page completely displaying TV related ads the first time I visited the site.
This happened only once. I was unable to to recreate this again on my desktop, it was one of those one-off glitches you wished you had taken a screen shot at the time! Any subsequent loading of the page on the same PC with different browsers, or with browser cache deleted, or on different PCs brought up the car related ads you would expect.
But I did manage to recreate the glitch once on my smartbook, and below are photos of the glitch. Apologies for the multiple photos, but the smartbook only has a display of 800x480. The ads displayed aren't as irrelevant as the first time I encountered the glitch. The first time saw obvious TV related ads displayed top left and right. This time, the same sky ad appeared top, and only the left adsense area also displayed tv related ads.
